Learning objectives

The training course strengthens the technical, methodological, and reflective teaching skills of practical instructors and promotes a common professional language between practical work and midwifery studies.

Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:

Systematically classify complex care situations in everyday midwifery practice.
Identify the professional midwifery-specific care process and apply it in instructional situations.
Understand key midwifery models as different perspectives of thinking and perception.
Guide midwifery students through complex situations depending on their level of learning.

The training course is aimed at practical instructors in the Midwifery Science programme at Furtwangen University.

From 8.30am: Meet and greet
9.00 - 10.15am: Input Part I: The complex care process
10.15 – 10.30am: Break
10.30am – 12.00 noon: Input Part II: Midwifery models as lenses for thinking
12.00 noon – 1.00pm: Lunch break
1.00 - 2.30pm: Group work
2.30 - 2.45pm: Break
2.45 - 3.00pm: Presentation of group results
3.00 - 3.30pm: Consolidation of perspectives in plenary session
3.30 - 4.00pm: Transfer & personal consequences – significance for practical instruction

Qualification
