Managing strategic decisions professionally in complex situations
This one-semester part-time continuing education programme helps you acquire these skills, because that is exactly what matters at the strategic level.
The course teaches knowledge about all essential business management areas that are necessary for strategic decision-making and problem-solving in a company. In addition, participants benefit from the experiences of others and build a professional network.
After successfully completing the MEP programme and obtaining the CAS certificate, participants have the opportunity to obtain another certificate with little additional effort by completing the “Extended Management Essentials for Professionals (eXMEP)”.

Learning objectives and content
Target group and prerequisites
The programme is aimed at executives and junior executives from companies and organisations, as well as graduates of technical, legal, scientific and IT degree programmes.
The prerequisites for participation are:
Formal:
- First professionally qualifying university degree (bachelor's, master's, magister, diploma, or equivalent – exceptions possible after consultation with the Dean of Studies of the Executive MBA)
- Successful participation in a detailed, personal interview to get to know each other
Technical:
- At least five years of professional experience in a position of responsibility after graduation
- Good command of English as the language of study
Format
Two eight-day periods (16 days) of block teaching in person, self-study phases, and online coaching.
After successfully completing the MEP programme and obtaining the CAS certificate, you have the option of obtaining another officially recognised certificate with minimal additional effort. Namely, with the extension option “Extended Management Essentials for Professionals (eXMEP)”.
Here, three additional modules are selected from the range of subjects offered in the 2nd and 3rd semesters of the Executive MBA, allowing you to earn a further 9 ECTS credits. Upon successful completion, you will receive a state-recognised “Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS certificate)” with 30 ECTS credits.
The decision to pursue this “extended” option can be made at very short notice at the end of the 1st semester.
Qualification
Upon successful completion, Furtwangen University will issue a certificate of continuing education worth 21 (MEP) ECTS credits.
Performance will be assessed in the form of a presentation. In this presentation, participants will apply the content they have learned to their own project. Information about the type and scope of the presentation will be provided in advance of each session.
