Building on Management Essentials for Professionals (MEP), after successful completion and acquisition of the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS), a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) can be obtained with little additional effort by choosing the Extended Management Essentials for Professionals (eXMEP) extension option.
Here, three additional modules are selected from the range of subjects offered in the 2nd and 3rd semesters of the Executive MBA, allowing students to earn an additional 9 ECTS credits. Upon successful completion, students receive a state-recognised Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) with 30 ECTS credits.
The decision to pursue this “extended” option can be made at very short notice at the end of the Management Essentials for Professionals (MEP) continuing education programme.

Learning outcomes and content
Target group and prerequisites
Managers and junior managers from companies and organisations, as well as graduates of technical, legal, scientific or IT degree programmes.
Prerequisites
Formally, you need a first professionally qualifying university degree (bachelor's, master's, magister, diploma or equivalent – exemptions possible after consultation with the dean of studies of the Executive MBA). In addition, successful participation in a detailed, personal interview to get to know each other is required.
In terms of professional experience, you need at least five years of professional experience in a position of responsibility after graduation.
Good knowledge of English, the language of instruction, is required.
Format
Two nine-day blocks (18 days) of classroom teaching, independent study, and online coaching.
After successfully completing the MEP programme and obtaining the CAS certificate, participants have the opportunity to obtain another officially recognised certificate with minimal additional effort, namely, the extension option “Extended Management Essentials for Professionals (eXMEP)”.

Qualification
Upon successful completion of the eXMEP, Furtwangen University will issue a certificate of continuing education worth 30 ECTS credits, the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS).
Performance will be assessed in the form of a presentation. In this presentation, participants will apply the content they have learned to their own project. Information about the type and scope of the presentation will be provided in advance of each session.
