Simulation game with “aha” effect
Efficient logistics processes are a key success factor in the production of medical devices. In this interactive one-day workshop, participants experience in a practical simulation how production and logistics decisions work under regulatory conditions. The Kanban method is used specifically to control material flows, reduce inventories and create transparency. Simulation, decision-making rounds and reflection make it possible to directly experience the conflicting goals of efficiency, quality and compliance. The workshop is aimed at medical technology professionals who want to learn about processes and improve them in the long term.
Learning objectives and content
The training course provides participants with a sound understanding of logistics processes in the production of medical devices and how these processes can be analysed and optimised. The aim of the workshop is to systematically clarify key processes in procurement, logistics and production, taking into account their objectives, constraints and regulatory requirements. Participants learn to view logistics process chains holistically, identify optimisation potential, and apply suitable methods. The content covers the basics of process management, technical logistics and product structures, as well as methods of process analysis and optimisation such as lean management (e.g. value stream analysis, Kanban), Six Sigma and the Turtle and Makigami methods. In an extensive group exercise based on a case study, the concepts learned are applied in a practical manner and reflected upon.
Target group and prerequisites
The training course is aimed at employees, particularly those working in process management, product planning and logistics departments.
Prerequisites for participation are:
- Completed vocational training OR
- Completed university degree
- In addition, at least 1 year of professional experience is required.
No experience with logistics processes is required.
