Orientation instead of overload

The digital compass in the care jungle

The demand for nursing care services in Germany has risen sharply in recent years and will continue to grow in the future. Many of those affected are faced with a huge “care jungle” when illness or the need for care strikes suddenly, and find it difficult to navigate their way through it alone. The wide variety of different entitlements to benefits in Germany is complex and difficult for people in this challenging situation to understand. Therefore, people in care situations are dependent on professional advice. The legislator has designated care support centres in particular as contact points for care-related issues. They provide advice and, in particularly complex cases, also take on the planning and coordination of services for those affected and their relatives.

Aim of the research project

The Pflegebooking project aims to test innovative approaches to implementing digital and hybrid care counselling services through neutral agencies such as care support centres. Among other things, the project aims to develop a digital platform that provides low-threshold information on care-related topics, links needs-based services from local care providers, and offers care advice through various channels. This should reduce the workload for advisors and offer those seeking advice new, easily accessible solutions.
