Developing new drugs with AI
Experimental and AI-based evaluation processes for the development of covalent drugs
The development of new drugs is of great social importance. Covalent drugs have demonstrated a strong market presence in recent years and generated billions in sales. Research interest in these drugs is growing, and with it the interest in being able to characterise potential drug molecules at an early stage.
Aim of the research project
The project aims to develop methods and processes that enable the efficient development of effective and safe covalent drugs. We focus on the early phase of drug discovery and use experimental and computer-aided methods to characterise the molecular interactions between potential drugs and their target molecules (drug targets). In doing so, we attempt to shed light on parameters that help in the assessment and evaluation of potential covalent drugs.
