Upper-Rhine Research Alliance for the technical Principles of Sustainability

The Upper-Rhine Research Alliance deals with the question of the development of energy-efficient, intelligent and robust technical systems to deal with global warming and diminishing resources, and their ecological and social consequences.

In this project, the cooperation partners want to, for example, create stable designs for automobiles using biological materials, achieve higher levels of efficiency in solar cells, or to reduce the energy consumption of buildings and industrial processes using intelligent sensors. In doing so the project combines the theoretical research of universities with the applied research of universities of applied sciences, in order to achieve both scientifically innovative and commercially viable results.
