Development, testing and optimization of an online-optimized grinding process
The results of the grinding process of workpieces are strongly influenced by temperatures in the grinding contact zone. Exceeding the temperature limits of specific materials generally leads to irreparable damage to the workpieces.
The aim of the project is to optimize rough grinding by careful monitoring of the effects of the temperature. For this, a new system to analyze material to prevent damage, and an appropriate process measuring and control technology, will be developed. The system will be integrated into the grinding machine which will then monitor the grinding process online and control the grinding parameters so that maximum removal is achieved without damaging the workpiece.
