This master's programme is aimed at business graduates who wish to further develop their analytical and problem-solving skills. Particular attention is paid to the future challenges facing companies and the goals of sustainable management and innovation management.   • We are method-oriented This degree programme has a scientific focus. As part of their studies, our students work on two research projects on current management topics and learn to apply quantitative and qualitative analysis methods.
  • Interdisciplinary approach We build on your basic business knowledge of corporate functions and organisations and teach you to look at and tackle complex problems from different angles.
  • Individuality is important to us We teach in groups of around 15 students. This allows us to provide you with the best individual support. Our teaching staff have years of practical experience in international management and will prepare you for your career with their unique expertise.
  • International through and through Not only is our degree programme taught entirely in English. Our students come from all over the world to complete their master's degree here - you will study in an international environment and gain unique intercultural experience.

Details of the programme

Programme content and structure

IMM is a three-semester, full-time degree programme. Our course content focuses on future trends and innovation. We develop skills for sustainable, future-oriented management.

In the first two semesters, you'll deal with future-oriented, interdisciplinary management topics and apply newly acquired methods in an international project team. In the third semester, you will write your thesis - possibly in cooperation with a company. In the colloquium accompanying your thesis, you'll experience an intensive exchange with your fellow students and receive continuous feedback on the current status of your work.

Entry requirements

For your application you need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a business-related subject with an above-average grade point average
  • The ability to work academically, demonstrated by a bachelor's thesis or alternative academic work
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, demonstrated by a full degree in English, TOEFL (score >95), IELTS (score >7) or an equivalent test

Tuition fees and living expenses

Semester fees
Starting in winter semester 2023/2024, all students at Furtwangen University will pay a fee of €149 per semester in addition to any tuition fees (see below).

Tuition fees for non-EU citizens
In 2017, the Baden-Württemberg state government introduced tuition fees of €1,500 per semester for students from non-EU countries. However, there are numerous exceptions to the obligation for non-EU students to pay tuition fees of €1,500 per semester.

Cost of living
Living costs average €934 per month and are the sole responsibility of the student. For the student visa, you must prove that you have sufficient financial resources for the entire period of your studies. Please note that this is a minimum requirement. The actual cost of living may be higher depending on your choice of accommodation and use of local facilities. Financial support from the university for living costs is not possible.
