Doctorate awarded to Furtwangen Computer Science student

Dr. Frank Dölitzscher

Frank Dölitzscher is proof that a Computer Science degree from Furtwangen University can take you far. On 22 September 2014, he was awarded his "PhD in Computer Science" by our cooperation partner in the UK, Plymouth University.

Frank graduated from Computer Networking at Furtwangen University in 2005. After a period of self-employment, he took a Master in Advanced Computer Science in Furtwangen. In 2007 he moved to Silicon Valley, where he worked on self-braking vehicles for Mercedes Benz. In 2009 he returned to HFU to carry out research on the current topic of "Security in Cloud Computing" in the Cloud Research Lab which is headed by Prof. Dr. Reich.

The University has been able to attract several projects with third party funding within the framework of this research area. Frank Dölitzscher's research work has received international Best Paper Awards several times. Research work took place in cooperation with the University of Plymouth with whom Furtwangen University has cooperated closely for many years. Both universities have the same goal in assisting students to gain a PhD. After completing and defending his doctoral thesis (both in English), Frank Dölitzscher was awarded his PhD title in September 2014 as the first in this cooperation. The Faculty of Computer Science has proven that it is an excellent place for students to do their PhD.
