FAQ

What personal attributes do I need to study Computer Science in Media?

An open attitude towards this very varied (generalist), interdisciplinary programme is the most important thing. You will be drawing sketches, developing designs, writing film scripts and working with algorithms and software programs. You will be dealing with topics as diverse as design and aesthetics, and the marketing of media products.

Do I have to be able to program?

By the end of your programme, you should be able to do it, but you do not have to know how to program before you start. However, as in all subjects, prior knowledge does make everything easier.

Do I have to have done advanced maths to be able to do this programme?

No, that is really not necessary. You don't have to be a mathematical genius to get through this programme. However, you shouldn't absolutely hate maths either because in your foundation level studies alone, you have 6 SWS of maths which lay the foundations that you will need for your advanced level studies. You should have a basic logical/mathematical aptitude.
