A particular strength of the Networks and IT security specialization is that it combines the design of network technologies with IT security.
You want to bring people together with the help of modern communication networks and give them the tools they need to work together? You enjoy developing apps and are interested in analyzing large amounts of data? Then the Networks and IT Security specialization is right for you. In this interesting, future-oriented field of work, you will design and implement intelligent solutions for networked systems. The technologies of the future, such as smart living in the digital networked house, also need experts with specialized know-how in IT security management.
Curriculum
The bachelor programme takes 7 semesters and is clearly structured. In each semester you will take 5 modules which are generally completed with a graded assessment. The foundation level studies are completed after 2 semesters, the advanced level studies after 5 semesters.

You gain practical experience already during your course through the 2 integrated projects in the 4th and 6th semesters. In the 5th semester you do an internship in a software company of your choice. If you wish you can do your 6th semester abroad - and we'll help you find a suitable university. In the 7th semester you complete your degree by writing your thesis, generally within a company.

Looking back, the Computer Networking programme in 2007 was an excellent choice with regard to preparing me for my everyday work in digitalization, cloud computing and big data in 2018.
