Labs and equipment (I20340-1)

HFU has a wide range of very well-equipped labs, which make interdisciplinary teaching and research possible. For example, for the teaching of the principles of natural sciences in the Applied Biology programme, there are chemistry and physics labs available. Practicals for the biology courses such as Microbiology, Molecular biology and Biochemistry take place in their own labs. Generally students work in pairs in the practicals within groups of 20 supervised by a teaching staff of 2.

Special labs such as the Cell Culture, Distilling or Technology Centre Labs offer students the opportunity to work on current research projects with the most up-to-date equipment during their undergraduate degree. Most labs have biological security level 1 approval, some also security level 2.
