On Thursday, 14 June, 2018, International Business Management students of the HFU Business School will be hosting a Pecha Kucha Event on the Schwenningen campus. The event consists of several short cultural presentations held in English in the special Pecha Kucha style which originated in Japan. The event is organized by IBM2 students as a semester project.
What is Pecha Kucha style? 20 powerpoint slides which change automatically every 20 seconds, each slide containing only a picture – and nothing else. No text or bullet points ("Bullets kill!"). And speaking time is limited to 6 minutes and 40 seconds in total. This all means that there's no danger of "death by powerpoint", the syndrome which sets in when audiences become bored or tired. Pecha Kucha-style presentations transform boring old presentations into a cultural phenomen that fascinates audiences.
