Meeting at the HFU Tuttlingen Campus: Representatives from the business sector, the public sector and the Tuttlingen Campus are once again coming together for the ‘Dialogue on the Future’.
How the energy transition is becoming a competitive advantage
How can local businesses use the energy transition to their competitive advantage? This is the question at the heart of the ‘Future Dialogue 2026’, which will take place on Tuesday 13 October at the Tuttlingen Campus of HFU. Under the motto “High-tech City on the Tuttlingen Campus – Energy as a Key Factor for Your Business”, the city’s economic development agency and the departments for digital infrastructure and equality, together with the university and its partners, are hosting a series of keynote speeches and a panel discussion.
“Energy is increasingly becoming a matter of competitiveness, security of supply and sustainability,” says business development officer Martin Wycisk, “and the Future Dialogue provides concrete, practical answers to these questions.”
This applies in particular to the keynote speech by Jens Schule. He is a project manager at Ökopionier August Weckermann KG, which has implemented an integrated energy system at its Oberbränd site. This system supplies the company with around 90 per cent of its energy needs from renewable sources. The subsequent discussion, moderated by Walter Frevert (Radio 7), will focus on how this example can be replicated. The panellists are:
- Christian Leibinger, Managing Partner, KLS Martin Group
- Jens Schuler, project manager, August Weckermann KG
- Robert Bede, Managing Director and Owner, HB microtec
- Patrick Müller-Benzing, Managing Director, Stadtwerke Tuttlingen
- Dr Sandy-Cheril Manton, Climate Protection Manager for the Baden-Württemberg State Network
Furthermore, the event demonstrates how the Tuttlingen Campus, as an innovative driving force, strengthens the region. Visitors can look forward to seeing new developments from students on site, as well as information points run by the university’s innovation network. The Board of Executives also emphasises this close integration: “Furtwangen University sees itself as a catalyst for knowledge and technology transfer – to the benefit of businesses and to strengthen the region as a whole as a centre of innovation,” explains Prof. Dr Christoph Reich, deputy Vice-Chancellor at HFU.
This year’s Women’s Business Days are also integrated into the programme. Lilli Stoffels will be reporting on her success story as an alumna. “She highlights how the structures on the Tuttlingen Campus supported her during her practical studies and opened up excellent career prospects for her right there on the spot,” emphasises Lucia Faller, Equal Opportunities Representative for the City of Tuttlingen.
The Future Dialogue 2026 begins at 4.30 pm on the Tuttlingen Campus, Kronenstraße 16. Following the keynote speech and the panel discussion, a ‘get-together’ will provide an opportunity for personal exchanges and networking. Participation is free of charge, but External link opens in a new window:registration for the High-Tech City event is required by Friday, 9 October.
