Prof. Dr. Marion Meinert
Last two events in the Furtwangen University ‘Summer School’
The two closing events in the Furtwangen University (HFU) ‘Summer School’ series will take place on Thursday, 10 September. Starting at 1.00pm, Prof. Dr Marion Meinert and Dr Manuela Rösch will be hosting a workshop entitled ‘Blue Lights & Superpowers’, inviting participants to explore the topic of disasters in a creative way. Children and young people aged eight and over will design comics or posters whilst learning how to protect themselves from various hazardous situations.
In a talk for adults at 4.30 pm, Prof. Dr Meinert and Dr Rösch will discuss civil protection and disaster management, as well as European cooperation. Visitors will learn how civil protection works and who is responsible for what in an emergency. The talk will also highlight the limitations of state-run preparedness measures and what individuals should do to prepare themselves.
Both ‘Summer School’ events are free of charge and will take place in Room 2.04 in the A Building on the HFU campus in Freiburg (Konrad-Goldmann-Str. 5c).
