EBM master's event fosters collaboration between the university and businesses
On 23 June, approximately 15 first- and third-semester students in the Engineering and Business Management (EBM) master’s programme joined faculty members and corporate representatives at the EBM Networking Event at the Holzmanufaktur Rottweil. The event took place in the lovingly renovated former pump house in the Neckartal industrial area, which was restored by Holzmanufaktur Rottweil and now serves as a unique venue for events and gatherings.
Following a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Volker Bucher, participants enjoyed a varied programme of presentations from both the university and the business community. Ms. Ehrenberger introduced Holzmanufaktur Rottweil and the history of this unique venue. Dr. Armin Müller presented Furtwangen University’s educational offerings for working professionals. In addition, representatives from the companies ACI Systems, BDT, and TRUMPF Laser SE provided fascinating insights into their companies, current developments, and career prospects. The programme was rounded out by a presentation from Prof. Dr. Wolf Dietrich Schneider on the topic of “Living in Germany,” which provided valuable information, particularly for international students.
However, the focus of the evening was on personal interaction. During the networking session, numerous lively conversations took place between students, faculty and company representatives about coursework, practical experience and career prospects. The relaxed atmosphere provided the ideal opportunity to make new connections and further expand the network within the programme.
To provide a welcome respite from the warm summer evening, ice cream was served to all participants, which contributed to the event’s pleasant atmosphere.
The EBM Networking Event has once again demonstrated how important personal interaction between the university and the professional world is.
