Professional development for teachers at HFU

Artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing our world — and with it, the way young people are taught and their daily lives at school and in college.

On Friday, 25 September, Faculty 1 at Furtwangen University (HFU) is offering a practical professional development course for computer science teachers at general and vocational high schools. The goal is to provide in-depth, high-level professional development — combined with concrete materials, exercises, and solutions that can be used directly in the classroom.

The focus is not only on imparting knowledge but also on fostering exchange — the event specifically promotes networking between schools and the university, as well as among the participating teachers.

The programme combines theory and practice:

  • AI Tools for Teachers: Tips and Tools for the Classroom
  • Hands-on: Programming Your Own AI Applications
  • Keynote: Strengthening Critical Thinking in the Age of AI
  • Panel Discussion: AI as a Future Competency — Between Support, Challenge, and Risk
