Closing event for the “PiTiPS” project
Over the past four years, the Care and Technology Lab (IMTT) at HFU has supported six collaborative projects — as part of the PiTiPS consortium — that are working on the development of sociotechnical innovations to support care communities, with a focus on participatory research. Within this framework, various formats such as research workshops, reflection sessions and networking meetings were organised. PiTiPs stands for participation and co-creation of innovative technologies for informal caregivers and care communities.
All projects jointly presented their results and exchanged experiences at the closing event for the funding line “Technology-Supported Innovations for Care Communities to Improve the Quality of Life and Health of Informal Caregivers.” The focus was primarily on the things that did not work out right away − the challenges the project teams encounter, and how were they addressed. In a “marketplace” format, the projects’ proposed solutions were tested and opportunities for transfer were discussed.
During the event, the IMTT recognised the completion of the accompanying research project Internal link opens in the same window:PiTiPS. Project leader Prof. Dr. Christophe Kunze thanked the project partners — the University of Lübeck (IMIS and ISE), the Bavarian Center for Digital Care, and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (GAT) — for their excellent collaboration. Special thanks were also extended to the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) as the funding agency and to the project management organisation VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH.
As part of the project, a framework for participatory research with informal caregivers is being developed, for which an interactive version will also be made available. Further information about the project and (soon) all the results can be found here: https://pitips.de/.
