Furtwangen University presented two research papers at Computing Conference 2026 in London

At the Computing Conference 2026 in London, two research papers from Furtwangen University were presented. As part of the research project “Internal link opens in the same window:NIO: AI-supported information tool for the use of real-world data in oncology”, Liane-Marina Meßmer presented her paper External link opens in a new window:“Effects of Data Heterogeneity and Differential Privacy on Federated Learning”.

Prof. Dr Ruxandra Lasowski and Johann Schulenburg, a graduate of the Master’s programme in Computer Science in Media from the winter semester 2025/2026 were also present at the conference. Johann Schulenburg presented his Master’s thesis entitled “External link opens in a new window:Effect of SBERT Text Embeddings on Deep Graph Clustering of Social Media User Communities on Bluesky" thereby highlighting the close link between his studies, research and academic exchange.

The presentation of several academic papers at an international conference demonstrates Furtwangen University’s strong research presence within the international academic community.
