Show of work and MediaNight at HFU School of Design and Media

Marine animals as interactive video productions, a rhythm game that transcends reality, and an immersive experience space − these and many other exhibits awaited visitors at the HFU School of Design and Media exhibition. At the end of the semester, students in the media programmes presented the results of their courses, projects and thesis work. The works from the summer semester of 2026 offered a comprehensive insight into the diverse world of media — from immersive experiences, to games and audiovisual productions. In an immersive experience space, visitors could experience the influence of social media on body image firsthand. One room over, a transmedia mystery thriller, told across multiple media, awaited its resolution. Visitors could read all about character and scene development on various posters or test their sense of rhythm in a rhythm game that combined real-world and virtual elements.

At the subsequent MediaNight, the students’ film projects were presented on the big screen. The short films from the second semester explored conspiracy theories and examined the topic from a wide variety of perspectives. During this festive event, respects were paid to soon-to-retire Prof. Martin Aichele from Faculty IV: Business, Design & Media, who has been at the university for over 30 years. A spontaneous guitar solo by Martin Aichele rounded out the evening drawing loud applause.
