Furtwangen University ranked among the “top universities”
The HFU Academy at Furtwangen University (HFU) coordinates a wide range of continuing education programmes for working professionals. It ranks among the top institutions in this field, as confirmed by the “Best Universities for Continuing Education 2026” ranking published by the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) Institute. The SZ ranking is based on a study by the Schad Institute for Social Sciences, which combines the customer perspective with the broader context. In addition to a customer survey, a social listening analysis was also conducted to assess the tone of posts on social media, blogs and forums.
“Furtwangen University was recognised as a top institution for continuing education in the categories ‘Health & Medicine’ and ‘Education, Social Sciences, and Nursing.’ I’m particularly pleased about this, as these are also our areas of focus,” reports Dr. Armin Müller, Director of the HFU Academy. “We offer seminars, certificate courses and modular bachelor’s and master’s programmes in a wide variety of fields. Lifelong learning is crucial today for keeping pace with the latest trends,” explains Müller.
The HFU also ranked among the top institutions in the categories “Personal Development & Soft Skills,” “Finance & Economics,” and “Natural Sciences.” Müller notes: “We don’t just focus our programmes on subject-specific knowledge; we also use them to expand and update personal skills and opportunities.”
