Joint workshop by Furtwangen University and the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce
How can companies create competitive advantages through the targeted use of artificial intelligence (AI)? This question is at the heart of the event “AI meets Industry − matchmaking workshop for manufacturing”, organised by the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK SBH) together with the new KI-Courage Hub at Furtwangen University (HFU). In the new KI-Courage Hub, researchers, teaching staff and students at HFU who work on AI are networked across locations and faculties.
On Tuesday 7 July exciting insights into current AI developments, practical examples and the activities of the KI-Courage Hub at HFU will be offered. “We have deliberately designed an interactive format that offers plenty of opportunity for exchange. For example, in the ‘world cafés’ participants can openly discuss concrete questions, challenges and use cases relating to AI,” explains HFU Professor Dr Martin Haimerl, who helped organise the event.
The workshop focuses on the application of AI-based approaches in the field of manufacturing as an important cross-cutting topic for industry in the region. “In particular, we want to show how collaboration between business and academia can be successfully shaped” says Haimerl.
The workshop will take place from 3.00pm at the IHK SBH Haus der Wirtschaft (Albert-Schweitzer-Straße 7, 78052 Villingen-Schwenningen). This free event is aimed at companies from all sectors, those responsible for innovation and anyone who would like to explore the potential applications and opportunities of AI.
