Prof. Dr. Martin Haimerl (second from the right) and his team at the Innovation and Research Center at Furtwangen University are planning the ninth InnovationNight, which this year will have a particularly international focus.

“InnovationNight#9 meets KTUR-Project”: Furtwangen University brings together entrepreneurs, companies and researchers from Germany, Switzerland and France

Furtwangen University and its partners invite you to attend the “InnovationNight#9 meets KTUR-Project: A Trinational Bridge for Startups” event on 17 June at the Neue Tonhalle in Villingen. From 3.30 - 7.45pm visitors can enjoy a diverse programme covering the topics of startups, innovation, trinational cooperation and cross-border innovation ecosystems. The event will be held in English and is aimed at interested parties from academia, business, startups, politics and society − particularly from Germany, Switzerland and France.

The biannual InnovationNight is being held for the ninth time under the patronage of the SBH Startup Incubator. “IN#9” will focus on collaboration with the trinational KTUR (Knowledge Transfer Upper Rhine) network. Furtwangen University collaborates within the KTUR network with eleven other colleges and universities from Germany, France and Switzerland, as well as key partner organisations from industry. KTUR receives approximately €2.5 million in funding from the EU through the Interreg programme; the total budget is around €5.8 million. KTUR’s core objective is to establish a trinational innovation ecosystem that bundles activities in the field of knowledge and technology transfer and raises the Upper Rhine region’s profile as a hub for technology-driven innovation across national borders. The network has been in existence since 2019.

Guests at InnovationNight#9 can look forward to an internationally oriented programme featuring workshops, keynote speeches, panel discussions and other interactive formats. Numerous speakers and participants from Switzerland and France will share insights into their respective regions, startup experiences and innovation projects. Another highlight of the programme will be the “5x5 Pitches,” in which a total of five founders will present their business ideas to a jury and have the chance to win prize money. In addition to the official programme, the event offers ample opportunity for networking and socialising well into the evening; in a relaxed atmosphere, students, female founders, entrepreneurs and representatives from academia, politics and society can make new connections and initiate partnerships.

“With InnovationNight#9, we are creating an open space for people who live and breathe innovation − across borders,” says Prof. Dr. Martin Haimerl, Director of the Innovation and Research Center (IFC) at HFU. “Together with KTUR, we are strengthening the network among partners and supporting founders and innovative companies in putting their ideas into practice. We are very much looking forward to the many inspiring presentations and the exchange of ideas!”
