Taster courses in many subjects at Furtwangen University
How does a 3D printer work? What do you need to keep in mind when designing a product? What technology is inside a pacemaker? Curious high school students can find out this, and much more, during the open house at Furtwangen University (HFU). During the Whitsun break from 1 to 3 June, a diverse programme covering various academic subjects will take place on the HFU campuses in Furtwangen, Schwenningen and Tuttlingen. Through introductory lectures on a wide variety of topics − including IT security, general psychology, genetics, business ethics, surgery and electronics − participants can get a feel for what it’s like to be a university student.
In addition to the lectures, there will also be lab tours and workshops, for example on 3D modeling, different types of ignition sources, or robot programming. High school students will have the opportunity to talk directly with faculty and students about the degree programme and ask questions. Participants are free to choose how many days they would like to attend; one event can be attended per day.
