Exchange between university and industry
On 17 April 2026, the 24th meeting of the Faculty I Industry Advisory Board took place at the CGI Innovation Lab in Karlsruhe. Representatives from industry and academia gathered to discuss current developments and future trends in computer science.
To kick things off, participants gained exciting insights into ongoing projects and innovative technologies during a lab tour. A special focus was placed on the topic of artificial intelligence. A keynote presentation on modern AI provided the basis for an in-depth discussion about the impact of AI on businesses, the workplace and computer science education.
The meeting also focused on the Internal link opens in the same window:new bachelor’s programme in Computer Science at Furtwangen University, in particular, the three specialisation tracks of the programme, along with the associated opportunities for students and companies.
The Industry Advisory Board of Faculty I provides a forum for regular dialogue between the university and the professional world. The goal of this exchange is to address current industry needs at an early stage and jointly to develop future-oriented perspectives for study, teaching and collaboration.
The evening provided numerous ideas for further collaboration and underscored the importance of close exchange between academia and the professional world.
