Innovation Engineering master's workshop
Students of our Internal link opens in the same window:Innovation Engineering master’s programme recently spent an unforgettable week at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden. They were accompanied on the workshop week by HFU Professor Dr.-Ing. Katja Gutsche and Carsten Droll. The week focused on “Applied Innovation.”
Together with Swedish students, the participants worked on real-world challenges posed by the paper and packaging manufacturer Smurfit Westrock in Piteå and visited its factory. They also experienced innovative solutions in the university’s eMaintenance and Condition-Based Monitoring Lab and discussed practical solutions for successful maintenance management in international teams. This demonstrated that innovation arises where technology, practice and perspectives converge.
Away from the workshop, the students also gained many lasting impressions. They saw the northern lights, took an ice bath, hiked across the frozen Baltic Sea, and visited the church village in Gammelstad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trip offered all participants many new experiences for their future studies and beyond.
