New Executive Education Program at HFU Business School

Management Essentials for Professionals - We prepare the leaders of the future

From Summer Semester 2020, the HFU Business School will be offering a new executive education program. In doing so the University is meeting the demands of industry for planable, short professional development courses at management level.

The part-time, one-semester Management Essentials for Professionals (MEP) management program is taught in English. This is the perfect option for anyone seeking to gain a solid grounding across a range of business subjects within a short period of time, without any long-term committment. The program focuses on the core functions of modern business. The program is first and foremost of interest for those in junior management positions with no business background, but who are confronted with such situations in the course of their work. Participants learn how to make strategic decisions and to deal with the challenges of complex situations.

The MEP program is identical to the first semester of the 2-year Executive MBA, which was launched in 2003. The classes are also taught together. The professional network which develops during the program has shown itself to be invaluable thoughout our graduates‘ later careers.

Delivery is on the Schwenningen Campus in the Summer Semester (March to July) on a total of 9 fixed weekends – always all day on Fridays and Saturdays.

The following courses are taught:

Management Accounting
Financial Accounting
International Marketing
Human Resources Management and
Project Management.

An examination is taken at the end of each course. Participants are awarded an officially recognized certificate upon successful completion of the program. (Certificate of Advanced Studies - CAS).

Admission requirements are a minimum of 5 years of professional experience as well as good English proficiency. Participants are also required to take part in a personal interview with the Dean of Studies Prof. Dr. Armin Trost. A university degree is not absolutely necessary to take part in the course.

The tuition fees for the program are €7,000. The program will start mid-March 2020. Application deadline is 1 March 2020.

It is possible to simply extend the program upon completion of this certificate program to take the complete Executive MBA program. Courses already completed are 100% accredited.
