In the latest university rankings, the engineering programmes of Furtwangen University (HFU) have achieved very good results. The rankings, which are produced by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE), were published in the 2019/20 ZEIT Study Guide on 7 May 2019.

Two Tuttlingen bachelor's programmes in the Faculty of Industrial Technologies, "Mechatronics and Digital Production" and "Materials Technology and Manufacturing", made it into the best category in many of the criteria evaluated. Students in Tuttlingen were particularly happy with the "Initial study support", "IT infrastructure" and "Lab equipment". In the Materials Technology programme, "Supervision by lecturers" and "Programme organization" were given an outstanding rating. "This confirms the strong position of our university campus with its clear practical orientation and close contact between teaching staff and students," says Professor Dr. Stephan Messner, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies.

The CHE university ranking is the largest and most detailed ranking in the German-speaking region, with over 400 universities and approximately 10,000 study programmes. Every year a third of the study programmes are newly evaluated.

HFU traditionally performs well
In the 2018 rankings, the Faculty of Computer Science at HFU was ranked very highly. In 2017 the HFU Business School, the Faculty of Business Information Systems and the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering at HFU were all listed in the top groups nationwide.
