Three campuses, nine faculties and many facilities, whether for research or in central administration – Furtwangen University offers a wide range of exciting and fulfilling tasks! It is important to us to show our employees how important they are to us. Each and every one of them! 

  • Research power We are one of the strongest research universities for applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg - our Institute for Applied Research supports the interdisciplinary cooperation of our main research areas. With our doctoral programme, we promote young scientists.
  • Balancing family and job We set great store by work-life balance. That's why we support families in different life situations with various offers, such as daycare centre cooperation, parent-child workspaces and advice on combining childcare and work.
  • International orientation People from all over the world work and study at our regional university. Get to know the cultural diversity on site, for example at the HFU International Festival. Or discover our internationally oriented offers, such as language courses and the ERASMUS mobility programme.

HFU offers flexible working hours by arrangement and the option of working from home. Whether in the faculty, in the institute, in your department or in a project – we work closely together in our immediate teams and in the HFU community as a whole. We look out for each other and ensure that our responsibilities are aligned with our life situation!

As a sustainable university with three locations, we support the mobility of HFU members with a job ticket for using local public transport.

And for all those who would like to gain experience abroad, there are great opportunities through "Erasmus staff mobility"! We are happy to enable employees and professors at the university to take part in further training or a guest lectureship abroad.
