Cooperative degrees with industry
Take an industry-focused degree and earn money at the same time? Furtwangen University offers various cooperative study models in addition to the traditional full-time study programme at the university campus in Tuttlingen. A major advantage of these models is that you earn a salary while you are studying and are therefore financially independent. In addition, these study models offer in-depth practice and an ongoing connection to an industrial company of your choice.
Studies at the faculty take place hand in hand with companies in the region. For those who want even more practical relevance, the Tuttlingen University Campus offers several cooperative study options run partnership with companies:
- The Study Plus programme combines studies with vocational training in 9 semesters (Qualifications: Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) vocational training certificate and Bachelor of Science).
- The Industrial degree programme combines studies with vocational training in 9 semesters and also offers a great deal of practical experience through industrial modules and the option of a stay abroad (Qualifications: Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) vocational training certificate and Bachelor of Science).
- The Trainee degree programme combines in-depth practical experience with full-time study
- The Individual Part-time degree programme combines professional employment and studies
The Study Plus programme is an absolute "sure thing" because it allows you to combine vocational training with a bachelor's degree programme and, because you receive wages as an apprenticeship, to become financially independent and cleverly advance your career.

The Individual Part-time Degree offers prospective students, who already have vocational training and who are employed in a company, exciting career perspectives. Students take a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering while they are still employed in their company. Who can apply for the "Part-time study programme"?
This new part-time study model is aimed at employed persons with a university entrance qualification and who are in regular employment, working a minimum of 15 hrs/week throughout their studies. In the "Part-time study programme", the credits of the original seven-semester full-time study programme are stretched over a maximum of 12-13 semesters. Students take part in the regular study and lecture programme, but only complete 50% of the work specified for full-time study per semester. This ensures an optimal work-study balance.
