Black Forest Innovation Summit at Furtwangen University
Furtwangen University (HFU) is bustling with preparations for an exciting event: on October 11, the university will host the first Black Forest Innovation Summit. Among the distinguished guests will be Petra Olschowski, Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Science.
Attendees of the Black Forest Innovation Summit can expect an exciting glimpse into the future within the exhibition spaces in Building O on the Furtwangen campus. The event brings together regional expertise and cutting-edge ideas from both research and industry, offering a platform to discuss technological advancements and their practical applications. HFU and its partners are deliberately bridging the gap between the Black Forest's strong economic tradition and the demands of the future. In a region known for its innovation and close connection to nature, the summit will showcase how modern solutions are being applied to create sustainable and forward-thinking projects.
The event will also feature the formal inauguration of Dr. Alexandra Bormann as HFU’s new president, conducted by Minister Petra Olschowski. The dynamic event program will highlight examples of innovation in action at the university and will conclude with a Black Forest lunch, providing ample opportunities for networking and exchange.
"The Black Forest represents both tradition and progress," says HFU President Dr. Alexandra Bormann. "With the Black Forest Innovation Summit, we want to demonstrate how cutting-edge technologies and regional strength go hand in hand." The summit offers a window into research excellence, with a particular focus on practical application—one of HFU’s core strengths. The emphasis will be on future-oriented solutions that address ecological and societal challenges while strengthening the economic potential of the region. "We look forward to an inspiring day filled with networking, conversations and new ideas for future collaborations," Bormann added.
