Lucas Paletta, Joanneum Research Graz
Dr. Lucas Paletta is a Key Researcher, R&D Project Manager, and Head of the Human Factors Lab at the DIGITAL Institute of JOANNEUM RESEARCH in Graz.
He develops digital biomarkers and AI-supported methods for biosignal assessment in VR, AR, and MR applications. His research combines eye tracking, pupillometry, and wearable sensors for emergency responder training and dementia screening. His most recent projects include SIXTHSENSE, FAIRWork, SmartSkills, and EMERDEC.
Michael Gaebler, Max-Planck-Institut Leipzig
Michael Gaebler heads the Mind-Body-Emotion Group at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences.
In his talk, “How We Use Immersive Virtual Reality for Naturalistic Neuroscience and Translational Neuropsychology,” he will present a series of studies in which he and his team have investigated the psychophysiology of emotions under naturalistic (dynamic, interactive) conditions using immersive VR.

Submissions
You have the opportunity to submit various contributions for the conference.

We will provide feedback on the abstracts by the middle of April.
Presentation
If you would like to provide an overview of your current research or delve into a single study and discuss it with other experts in your field, we invite you to submit a presentation. Accepted presentations will be grouped into symposia based on their topic. Each presentation lasts 15 minutes (12 minutes of speaking time + 3 minutes of discussion)
The title may be up to 130 characters long, and the abstract up to 250 words. Please cite references in APA format; a bibliography is not required.
Please send your slides in advance as a .pptx or .pdf file, or bring them on a USB drive so we can save time on setup and handover.
Posters
Would you like to provide insight into your research and receive feedback? Then present a poster!
The title may be up to 130 characters long, and the abstract up to 250 words. Please include references; a bibliography is not required.
The poster should be DIN A0 size. The preferred orientation is portrait.
Demonstration
We invite you to present your application or immersive environment during a live demonstration. To ensure everything runs smoothly for everyone, please note that you must bring your own equipment. We will provide power outlets, tables and Wi-Fi. Please let us know your technical requirements in advance, including space requirements, the number of power outlets needed, and the necessary connectivity.
Your demonstrations should be safe for the public. If you are unsure about feasibility, please feel free to contact us − we’d be happy to assist you.
