Institute for Applied Research

The Institute for Applied Research (IAF) is the central scientific body of Furtwangen University and the contact for any research-related questions. As an umbrella organization for HFU research activities, the IAF provides its members with a platform for subject-specific and interdisciplinary exchange and coordinates joint activities. Currently the IAF has 40 members working on 6 research themes. The HFU Research Institutes also belong to the IAF.

Our activities include:

  • Provision of advice, information and support regarding starting research at Furtwangen University
  • Provision of information about current research programmes funded by the State, the Federal Government, the EU, foundations, etc.
  • Representation at fairs, events and scientific forums and public relations
  • Provision of contacts for companies seeking expertise in a particular area; referrals to experts on various research questions
